Supposedly, A and B are two persons who have Rs 50 and Rs 100 respectively. Here 50 and 100 are two different quantities are in same unit, rupees. It is quite clear that Rs 50 is half of Rs 100. Thus, it is clear the ratio of Rs 50 and Rs 100 is 1 and 2(1:2).

Simply, ratio can be expressed as form of simplest fraction. So, we can clearly say that ratio of Rs 50 and Rs 100=50/100=1/2=1:2.1 is called as Antecedent of the ratio and 2 is called as Consequent of the ratio
